Mallika began her training in Kuchipudi classical dance at
Kuchipudi Art Academy, Hyderabad. She learnt the nuances, fundamentals and
theory of Kuchipudi classical dance under the tutelage of Padmasri Dr. Sobha
Naidu.
Mallika performed in all major classical dance festivals allover India as a solo artiste. Some of her major performances include TTD Brahmostavams, Tirumala: Chidambaram Natyanjali festival; Nishagandhi Dance Festival, ITC Golden Great Festival, AP Cultural Affairs Festival, Andhra Pradesh Day celebrations at New Delhi, India International Trade Fair, Pragathi Maidan, New Delhi. She also won the National Talent Search Scholarship in Kuchipudi classical dance for a period of eleven years.
With her stunning stage presence, grace and understanding of the dance, Mallika has won the acclaims of dance critics and gurus in her performances. Mallika was awarded " Natya Visaradha" from Dr. Sobha Naidu after completion of the theory and practical course offered by the Academy. She went on to pursue Diploma certification in Kuchipudi classical dance from Sri. Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. Mallika was fortunate to take the guidance of Sri. Pasumarthy Seshubabu and his father Late Sri. Pasumarty Venugopala Krishna Sarma garu in learning traditional dances for the certification.
Mallika performed lead roles as a part of Dr. Sobha Naidu's troupe; Some of her lead roles are Rukmini in Srikrishna Parijatam, Mahalakshmi and Padmavathi in Srinivasa Kalyanam. Dr. Sobha Naidu choreographed several famous solo dances using Mallika as her muse. Mallika was fortunate to learn and appreciate the beauty of Kuchipudi classical under the guidance of Dr. Sobha Naidu.
