Mallika’s parents Sri. Gangaraju Ramaprasad and Smt.
Saroja Ramaprasad introduced her to Fine arts of Dance, Drama and Singing under
the tutelage of Radio Annayya Sri. Nyayapathi Raghava Rao garu and Radio
Akkayya Smt. Nyayapathi Kameswari in Andhra Balananda Sangham, Hyderabad.
It is under their guidance and mentorship Mallika blossomed in to a child artiste of repute. She played lead roles in Dance dramas as Elukamma in Elukamma Pelli, Chiluka in Chilukamma Pelli to name a few. Her debut performance at the tender age of four has won her Andhra Pradesh State Balala Academy Award.
She portrayed lead roles in several dramas of Andhra Balananda Sangham. Mallika won several state and local dance competitions representing Andhra Balananda Sangham. She was a regular conductor and participant in " Baalaanandam" an All India Radio children's Program. This was conducted by Late Smt. Turaga Janaki Rani Famous Akkayya garu on the weekends from AIR, Hyderabad.
Mallika was also the first child anchor and announcer for Tele-school programs for Doordarshan (Indian Television). As a child artiste, she performed several times as a solo artiste as well as a lead in dance dramas in Indian Television. After witnessing a dance drama rehearsals conducted by Dr. Vempati and performed by Dr. Sobha Naidu in Balanandam premises, Mallika went on to get introduced to the great art form of Kuchipudi . She began her training in Kuchipudi classical dance under the tutelage of Dr. Vempati and Dr. Sobha Naidu at Kuchipudi Art Academy, Hyderabad.
